School Administration

Hooray!

September 17, 2011 seemed not like an ordinary day. The rattle and boom of drums were foreboding. The chants and yells were deafening.

Marshalls Mr. Galo Gammad, Mr. Rafael Moreno, Mr. Anthony Baya, Mr. Celso Rosanes, Mr. Jeffrey Bonalos, and Mr. Antonio Romero heisted their team’s colors. They all looked itching for battle. Then, the muses joined the planks. They were all beautiful amazons. The drums rattled and boomed even louder. The chants and yells became ear-splitting. Silence slewed to have retreated and died in the most unknown corner of LSQC as the teams paraded around the campus. It was as if every team was trying to cow all other teams into unconditional surrender simply by drumming, chanting, and yelling.

All the teams converged at the LSQC Quadrangle. Silence seemed to have found a new life when Edward Borja gave the invocation. It was followed by the National Anthem sang by Jule De Guzman and Dominic Elayda.

The Intramurals Flag was brought in by selected Grade 4 and 6 students, after which Ms. Jocelyn Andaya, the principal, gave the opening remarks. Some members of the UE Red Warriors Basketball Team fired up the competing teams’ enthusiasm.

The Intramurals Flame was lit by Shan Nishihiro, captain of the SBP (Small Basketeers Philippines) Grade School Basketball Team. All the teams recited the Oath of Sportsmanship led by Timothy Dela Cruz.

When Rev. Fr. Rector Antonio B. Ala II, OFM Cap. formally declared the opening of Intramurals 2011-2012, sports hostilities began.

May the losers be gracious in defeat and the winners magnanimous in victory.
