Mark Allen Barerra and Colin Daniele M. Dancel were voted as First Year Councilors in the first ever automated elections in Lourdes School Quezon City, held last July 30, 2010, Friday.

Out of 415 total votes cast, Mark Barrera got 159 while Colin Dancel got 139 votes. Barrera scored the highest in 1-Peace while Colin perfected her votes in her section, 1-Faith.

Before voting, students were asked to review the profile of the candidates provided in Lourdes School Interactive, the official website of LSQC.

A total of 24 null votes and 1 duplicate vote were discarded. The nullified votes were caused by errors and glitches that occurred during voting.

“I would start a fund raiser for the dance night and for other activities. I will also make this year a better place for freshmen pupils,” Barrera said as he shared his plans for this school year. He also said that he would support the mission-vision of the school by first, following the core values and applying it to his life, second, by living the Lourdesian creed, and third, by helping others understand its meaning.

Colin Dancel for her part, said “I will propagate the mission-vision of the school to my fellow Lourdesians and apply (it) to myself.” She stressed her plan of having a community willing to help people who are facing difficulties in their lives.

The automated election this year was made possible by IMC-IT office in cooperation with the TLE area for the use of the computer laboratory. It was made to resemble the recently concluded May elections.
